Mojo Monday 175

As soon as I saw the sketch for this weeks Mojo Monday challenge, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Did it turn out that way? Well apart from one tiny aspect, yes, and I'm pretty pleased with my effort. Here's the sketch and the card I created.

.
Now all I need is for a friend (or sister-in-law) to have a baby girl! No pressure Nic!
.
Other than the Very Vanilla Ribbon and the Safety Pin from the Vintage Trinkets in the Summer Mini Catalogue, everything else on this card was left overs from the retired Rock-a-Bye Girl Simply Scrappin' Kit from last years catalogue.

QLD Flood Appeal

It seems everyone's hearts have been touched by at least one story we have heard about the floods in QLD. Like many times before we have reached out and helped others in need, such as last years devastating fires in VIC. Well, it seems, this year it's QLD's turn.

For each stamp set (over $30) purchased between 15th January and 15th February, Stampin' Up! will donate $2 to the SES of QLD.

So by simply purchasing a new stamp set, you can do your little bit to help.

Cheers,
Donna

Holiday Get Together

Each school holidays, my Upline Joanna has a get together at her house for the Creative Stampers team. Whilst the kids play outside, the mums play inside. The rules of our game: bring a card in a box! A card in a box is all the supplies needed to make your chosen card, for each person in a box. The box gets passed around until everyone has made everyone else's card.

Here is my card
The following cards were designed by;
Sue Brown
Marium Fuente
Belinda Hennessey
The above photo is the outside of Belinda's card and the photo below is the inside.
Where possible I have linked each of the names to their blogs, so you can check out what and ubber talented group of ladies they are.
Most of the cards had one or more products from the Summer Mini Catalogue, so hopefully you have been inspired to get creative!
Cheers,
Donna

A Wheelie Big Fundraiser

My fellow Creative Stamper, Christie Wallace is organising a fundraiser to raise some money and help the McCarthy family purchase a new wheel chair for their daughter Alyssa.

Rather than repeat what Christie has on her blog, you can check out Alyssa's story here and an update here

All proceeds from the event will go directly to the McCarthy family. If you can spare 3 or so hours on the 12th February, I have reserved 5 seats (first in best dressed) for the 6:30 - 9:30pm session, please let me know ASAP if you'd like to attend. It's only $30 per person. For that you'll get to make 6 cards and get a gift for participating. There will also be refreshments and lucky door prizes and a raffle.

So get on board and book your place now!

Cheers,
Donna

Happy Birthday Thomas

Our youngest nephew turned 2 earlier this month and this is the card I made him.

Interesting choice of colours, heh! But when you ask a 5 year old what colour should I use and she replies purple, you roll with it. Tommy should be most grateful Emily didn't say pink! Now because the caboose HAS to be red, I did my best to keep the colour flow happening...

Card Recipe
Stamps: Choo Choo
Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Elegant Eggplant, Real Red
Ink: Crumb Cake, Elegant Eggplant, Real Red
Other: Stamp-a-majig, Dazzling Diamonds, Timeless Type Alphabet Sizzix Die, Sticky Strip, Dimensionals, 2-Way Glue Pen

Donna

Christmas Card Craziness

These little beauties are the gift tags I created for our presents this year. Delightful Decorations stamp set and the Ornament punch were just what I needed.

Every year I tell myself to pick one design and go with it. Why, why, why can't I do it! These are most of the cards that were sent out this year.

If you'd like the card recipe for any of the cards, let me know.

Cheers,
Donna

Secret Santa

Just ducking back to Christmas for a second to show you some of my creations.

The beginning of December was the Christmas get together for The Creative Stampers. This year we had a Secret Santa. With a dollar limit on Stampin' Up! products, below is what I gave to Christie Wallace: a card, some brads, 1" circle punch, corner book mark, postit note holder and a bar of chocolate. I sure hope Christie enjoyed receiving it as much as I enjoyed making it.

I received a gift from Michelle LeBreton. It was the Celebrations DSP, some ribbon (in the box) and brads, buttons, flowers and clips (in the mini milk carton).

Click on Christie's and Michelle's names to visit their blogs.

Cheers,

Donna

December Rundown

2nd December
The girls had their Christmas concert at daycare. Lots of singing and dancing by the kids, and laughter and tears of laughter from the parents. Did we take photos, yes, are they any good, no! Too much jumping around and once the kids are in costume, you can't tell who's who. It was great fun though.

4th December
Happy 6th Birthday Kristian. Krissy had a visit from Spiderman at his party, and both girls were trashed afterwards. They had a great time. I (of course) made Krissy a card, but alas, didn't take a photo of it!

6th December
Happy 6th Birthday Matthew. Our nephew Matty gets so excited when he gets pressies in the post, so we posted his pressie and card down to him. Needless to say, another card with no photo.

7th December
Happy Birthday Andrew. My brother and his family live 1 1/2 hours down the coast, so i not only posted his son's card and pressie (see above), but his as well. And as I was on a roll, so no photo of the card!
9th December
As you may have read in previous posts, Emily does Cheerleading, and the end of the year concert is always a treat. This year was awesome. It was held at the Parramatta Riverside Theatre. Because of the proper theater seating (each row behind higher than the one in front), everyone could see each performance. Whilst I have no photo's of the concert itself (no flash photography allowed).

10th December
Emily had her Daycare graduation. Wow! When did she grow up! This photo was taken mid year when school photos were taken, but it's just toooo cute to not show you.

25th December
MERRY CHRISTMAS!! We had the family at our place this year. For lunch there were 9 adults and 3 kids. By dinner, Rob's family had left (5 adults and 1 child) and my brothers family arrived (2 adults and 3 kids). Although it was awesome day, it was not a quiet one, not was that night with our house sleeping 6 adults and 5 kids!

Happy Birthday Alissa. My girlfriend Alissa shares her birthday with the little baby Jesus (same day - different years). Of all my friends, hers is the one I never forget. What I did forget, was to post her birthday card. Have I done it yet? No, it's still in my craft room. Sorry :(

26th December
Peace - well sort of! Mum and Dad headed home and Andrew, Nicole and the kids headed off with them for a few days 'holidays'!

27th December
Up to mum and dads for the day - because we hadn't seen enough of them over the last day and a half!
31st December
Caught up on tome TV watching, missed the early fire works on TV and knew there was no way I'd make it to midnight, so toddled off to bet and was fast asleep by 10pm. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Cheers,
Donna

New Years Resolution

GONE!!! Well not the greatest start to the year... I don't usually make resolutions as I always forget about them by January 2nd, and I don't have any bad habits to break, so haven't really seen the need. True to form - one post in December and it's ALREADY mid January (Where have the last 6 weeks gone!) before I get around to posting again, sorry :(

This New Year I thought I'd make myself the promise to update my blog more regularly. Well you can see that, that promise has already been broken.

I do have the intention to partake in more design challenges this year, so that will mean I have to blog more regularly - albeit from now on.

So hold on to your hats with one hand and grab a cuppa in the other (maybe use a toe or two to scroll down) because I have a lot of updating to do.

Stay tuned,
Donna
