Girls Night In

WELL... What a great day Saturday was for the Girls Night In event I co-hosted, along with Michelle, Sara, Angela, Sue & Naomi. Our Stamp'n'Fun event raised $1,325.50 for the Cancer Council. If you were able to join us, thanks SO much. If you were one of the lucky ladies who won one (or more in some cases) prizes on our raffle and luck door draw, congrats to you! We all had a blast and sure hope you did to. Though next year I suggest we splash out and hire a masseuse as our feet were killing us by the end of the day and a 'Sven' would have come in very handy :)

Can you believe we were so busy we didn't get a chance to take pictures. So if you came and did take pictures, we'd love to see them.

Cheers

SSSC89

I've taken part in a few sketch challenges, but get too busy and don't seem to get them posted in time. This week, it's different. I have taken part in the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge. Here's my effort, compared to the sketch. Why not head over and have a look at the other fabulous creations.

Given that nearly every card at this time of the year is Halloween or Christmas, I thought I'd try to seer clear of these, so I made a male card - or a beer drinkers card....

Card Recipe
Card Stock: Sahara Sand, Peach Parfait, Basic Black, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Cheers to You , Choo Choo
Inks: StazOn Black, Peach Parfait, Sahara Sand
Other: Sticky Strip, Crystal Effects, Aqua Painter, Blender Pen, Dimensionals, InColour DSP Patterns Stack

Triple Treat Tuesday #1

Here are three variations of the same card, showing different results you can achieve depending on your level of ability and availability of products.

Card 1 shows a clean and simple card. Card 2 has some paper piercing, glitter and ribbon added. Card 3 has clear embossing, punches, a brad and more ribbon added.

I really like this idea. I have seen a few of them around and thought I could do that. So each month I'll create 3 cards just like I have here. Who knows, it may inspire you to add something extra to your cards.

Stamp Sets: Dasher, Seasons of Joy
Card Stock: Real Red, Whisper White
Inks: Real Red, Versa Mark
Punches: Wide Oval, Large Oval

Birthdays-A-Plenty!

Well, July and August are busy times for us. Amongst family birthdays we have many friends' birthdays as well. So, I thought I'd show you a few of the cards I have made for them.

Card Stock: Brilliant Blue, Bashful Blue, Whisper White
Inks: Brilliant Blue
Punches: Star, Large Star
Other: Sticky Strip, Dimensionals, Rock Star Card Elements Kit

.

These next cards are for two of Emily's friends - sisters Sophie (turning 5) and Sarah (turning 4). I have used a simple and effective layout and a few non SU! products (naughty me!)
.

Card Recipe
Stamps: Birthday Whimsy (retired), Beyond the Basics (retired), Non SU! Numbers
Card Stock: Melon Mambo, Orchid Opulence
Inks: Melon Mambo, Orchid Opulence

.

I think everyone will like their cards. Don't you?

Floral Friday #1

OK, so I'm not a real florally person when it comes to stamps, so I'm setting myself a challenge to create a floral card each Friday. Here's my first effort. What do you think?

A very smart layout that I'm sure I'll be using more and more (thanks Alissa). The band of flowers is the large flower from the Easter Blooms set and I have used the 'Rock & Roll' technique. I love this technique. As you can see, it's really effective.

Card recipe

Stamps: Easter Blooms, Best Yet

Card Stock: Orchid Opulence, Pink Pirouette, Whisper White

Inks: Orchid Opulence, Pink Pirouette

Other: Stick Strip, Dimensionals

Cheers,

Donna

2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue

Being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I got the opportunity to get a copy of the new 2010-2011 Idea Book & Catalogue before it's release on September 1st. Might I just say, it's wonderful!!! My wish list is over 3 A4 pages long...

Would you like a copy of your own to devour? Though you wont be able to order anything from it for a week or so, you'll have the perfect opportunity to write your own wish list, ready to order come September 1st. Just me know and I'll keep one aside for you. You can purchase one and pick it up from me for $10, I can post it to you for $15, or if you would like one for FREE, simply get some friends together and hold a workshop and see first hand some creations made from the new products.

Let me know, as I'm expecting my shipment of catalogues to arrive this week - can't hardly wait!

Last Chance!

Well, hope your credit card bill has been paid, because you'll be wanting a clean slate once you see the long list of retiring products on this years "Last Chance List ". Why is it so long? It's not because nearly all the stamps are retiring, there are to reasons. One, with the colour renovation, existing card stock, inks, re-inkers, markers are going and coordinating ribbons and brads etc. too. Two, because the punches are listed also. This is because they are to be reconfigured to the new style.

With some of the products listed, being 25% and 50% off, stock will go really quickly so, grab a cuppa and have a peruse of the "Last Chance List" and don't be shy to contact me with your list of goodies you'd like to order...he he he. Products are on sale until the end of August, unless sold out before - so be quick!

As soon as I can (know how!) I'll put up links to the "Last Change List" and current Stampin' Up! catalogues. If you receive my monthly newsletter, you can check them out as the links are on there

Check back later...

Cheers,
Donna

Bunch of Petals

These cards started out as a one card project. With a bit more colour and other petals, this is what I ended up with. Using the curly label punch as a tag is a great effect, don't you think? The centre of the flower is punched out with the 1" circle and mounted with a dimensional.
.
Card recipe
SU Stamps: Pick a petal, Short & Sweet, Starring You, Fun & Fast Notes
SU Card Stock: Soft Suede, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Pacific Point, Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss, Certainly Celery, Rich Razzleberry, Mellon Mambo, Pink Pirouette
SU Punches: 1" Circle, Curly Label
Other: Dimensionals, Sticky Strip
